This Friday, the Plainville girls swimming team is back in action and will open the season with a meet against non-conference foe Relay Carnival from 3:45 from the famous pool at Plainville High School
He’s a quick peek at the Blue Devils:
Plainville Girls Swimming
Head Coach: Randy Doucette
Last Season: 8-6 overall, 3-2 CCC South
State Tournament: The Blue Devils finished 15th at the Class S championship.
Key Losses: Sarah Basile, Emily Zuckerman and Kayla Quealy were the seniors from last year’s program.
The season: Five seniors return to the squad as Jennifer Heslin, Kelsea Fithian-Giantonio, Marissa Schilling, Nicole Rogan and Erica Mikulak will be leading the squad.
Junior Megan Farmer will also be a key performer for the Blue Devils.
Farmer was proficient in the 50 free and the 100 butterfly while Rogan was solid in the 500 free last year.
Sophomore’s Nicole Basile and Megan Delena also had their moments in 2011 and will be counted upon again this year.
The team, which finished over .500 last season will look again to be one of the top squads in the CCC South.
And if any of the locals qualify for the CCC Tournament and Class S events, they won’t have to travel far as those vents will take place at the school’s own pool.
