The Plainville Chamber of Commerce “Women in Motion” committee is calling all women of Plainville to join it for a night out at the third annual “Tip a Man in Uniform.”
There will be raffles, a door prize, entertainment, and dinner, served by men in uniform, i.e., local police officers and firefighters. While the women have a fun night out, they will be helping the Plainville Food Pantry
Maureen Saverick, operations manager at the Plainville Chamber of Commerce, said the annual event has been a success for the past two years, and it “is just a fun night out for women.”
She said the food pantry has benefitted from a portion of the proceeds from the event for the last two years, and will continue to get the support of the chamber.
“It is a great organization, located in Plainville, and the need there are greater than ever,” Saverick said. “The clients and needs just keep growing.”
The “Tip a Man in Uniform” event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Tickets, which must be purchased in advance, are $25 and are available at the chamber office at the Municipal Center, 1 Central Sq., Plainville, and can be reached at (860) 747-6867.
The event will be held at Capri Ristorante, 161-38 Woodford Ave., Plainville.
