Seven-thousand books and tapes will go sale at the Friends of the Plainville Public Library Winter Book sale. The Friends have spent many hours sorting the books into categories and setting up the sale. Cookbooks, children’s books and mysteries are always popular sections but there are dozens more including: home and garden, biography, general fiction, literature, business, reference and history.
The Friends book sale has been held for the last 25 years and attracts hundreds of browsers through the two day event. All of the proceeds from the sale will go toward improving the library. Prices range from 50 cents for paperbacks to $1 for hard cover books. There will also be video tapes and DVD’s. Almost all of the items are donated to the library, some are discards.
The sale will be held starting on Friday night, March 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. and will continue on Saturday, March 23 from 10 to 3 p.m. There is a $3 per family admission charge for the Friday night sale. The final hour of the sale is the “bag” sale, where customers can fill up an entire bag for a set price.
