Learn about how to grow bamboo tonight at library

Jeffrey Eleveld from the People Plant Connection will give a talk and demonstration on growing bamboo at the Plainville Public Library, 56 East Main St., Plainville on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. Participants will start their own bamboo plants in water and learn about its care and folklore. Spring is great time to start a new plant.
Bamboo plants are very slow growing and so can be shaped in different ways. They are steeped in tradition and symbolism which will be explained during the talk.
The program is free but space is limited so participants should register by calling the library at (860)793-1446.
