Legion Post 33 ready to take the field

PLAINVILLE – The Plainville American Legion baseball team is back in the swing of things and that means Post 33 is gearing up for another season of action from Plainville high school
Plainville went 13-11 last season and was one game out of qualifying for the American Legion State Tournament.
This season, the top five teams in the Zone 7 will qualify for state tournament play.
The squad held tryouts on Sunday, June 2 and all throughout the week to round out its Senior and Junior Legion squads.
Numerous players from the 2012 Plainville high school team, along with a couple returnees from the college ranks, will make up this season’s line-up once again.
Post 33 will be led at the helm by coach Jim Tufts.
