Registrar announces hours to register for GOP primary

The Registrars of Voters will be in their office noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at the Municipal Center in Room 203. This session is for anyone not registered and wanting to vote in the Republican primary on Tuesday, Aug. 12. Also registrars will hear requests by persons removed for adding their names back to the registry list.

Voter registration deadlines for the Republican Primary are:

Applications sent by mail must be postmarked by Aug. 7.

Applications submitted in person until on Aug. 11.

Unaffiliated voters may enroll in a major party if they adhere to the deadlines.

The deadline to switch from one major party to another was May 12.

A limited registration session will be held on Monday, Aug. 11 from 9 a.m. to noon for those whose qualifications as to age, citizenship or residence was attained after the July 29 deadline.

Voting on Tuesday, Aug. 12 will be held at all four polling places in Plainville.
