Town to start reconstruction of Maple Street and Park Street

The town of Plainville will be starting the reconstruction of Maple Street and Park Street from Maple Street to Broad Street.

According to a press release from the Plainville Engineering Department, the town and its subcontractors will begin construction activities encompassing the repair of the existing pavement and the installation of new roadway surfaces on Maple Street and Park Street on or about Aug. 8. During construction, drivers could expect a gravel roadway surface, the release said.  Construction activities, which are expected to continue until Oct. 1 (for a total of seven weeks), also will involve the replacement of catch basin grates and frames, the release said.

Construction is most likely to occur during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, the release said.  Construction activities may occur on some Saturdays contingent upon scheduling and weather conditions, and drivers can expect delays, the release said. It also is likely that vehicle traffic at times will be restricted to only residents, (local traffic only), and emergency vehicles during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., according to the release.  A detour route will be established and identified should it be necessary, and drivers should consider an alternate route during these times, the release said.
